Mall of the Emirates emanates national sense of pride

Two-week celebration of UAE’s 42nd National Day until 3rd Dec 2013

Dubai, UAE, 26 November 2013 – Mall of the Emirates is already radiating with national sense of pride as it gears up for the UAE’s 42nd National Day celebrations. UAE flags hang from the ceiling throughout the mall and all entrances are adorned with UAE-centric door decals to create a festive ambience. Beginning this week, the mall will slowly usher in the celebratory activities - art exhibition, traditional band, roaming entertainment and interactive activities for the whole family.

“Mall of the Emirates takes pride in being a part of the UAE National Day celebrations. Focusing on the triumphs that our country has made over 42 years, we want our celebratory activities to create special moments that will leave a mark in our shoppers’ hearts,” said Fuad Sharaf, Senior Director – Property Management, Shopping Malls at Majid Al Futtaim Properties. "We are also celebrating the community’s accomplishments. Honoring the Arab culture and heritage, we take this opportunity to showcase UAE talents through an art exhibition and presenting a traditional Emirati band to our guests.”

The UAE’s 42nd National Day celebratory activities at Mall of the Emirates are as follows:

Nov 27 - Dec 2: Local melodies that stemmed out from Khaleeji tradition and Bedouin folk music will be played within the mall, as well as the UAE National Anthem.

Nov 28 - Dec 2: Twenty-minute show of stilt walkers, roller bladers and living statues dressed in UAE colors will roam around the mall to meet and greet the shoppers.

Nov 28 - Dec 5: Kids are encouraged to illustrate UAE National Day through a drawing and enter a competition. Drawings have to be submitted to Mall of the Emirates in a specific booth at the central galleria where it will be scanned and shared on Mall of the Emirates’ social media websites (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram). The most popular entry wins a prize.

Nov 29 - Dec 2: Traditional Emirati band will perform at the Central Galleria and Ski Dubai area.

Dec 1 - Dec 2: Complimentary UAE National Day themed nail art for female shoppers. Located on the first floor next to Jumbo Electronics, friendly nail technicians from Sugar Urban Nail Spa will accept guests from 10am to 10pm.

Dec 1 - Dec 2: Prayer beads colored red, green, white and black along with UAE flags will be handed out to every shopper at Mall of the Emirates. In addition, staff from Sheraton Dubai Mall of the Emirates will hand out chocolates that are nicely wrapped in UAE-themed packaging at the VIP entrance (Harvey Nichols entrance) as well as the Fashion Dome entrance.
