Janelle Monáe impressed guests with a high-energy musical performance at the Ralph Lauren show
NYFW was first up, and Ralph Lauren kick-started the stylish shenanigans by transforming a former Wall Street bank into Ralph’s Club – his one-night-only Art Deco-themed nightclub. Alongside a catwalk presentation of his glittering new lines, singer Janelle Monáe put on a high-energy musical performance much to the enjoyment of the A-list guests.
Models danced down the runway for Tommy Hilfiger x Zendaya’s block-party bash
Models embraced the block party vibes for American fashion designer Tommy Hilfiger’s latest collaboration with actress Zendaya. Celebrating strong, iconic women of ’70s African-American pop culture, the duo’s second collection together saw a diverse casting of models dance down the runway, along with electric musical performances and retro convertible cars to complete the cool Harlem-inspired setting.
The Beckham family showed up in full force to show their support for Victoria Beckham’s show
Hearts melted at the VB show in London when David and the entire Beckham brood – sandwiched between top Vogue editors – sat front row to see their mother’s labour of love come to life on the catwalk.
Naomi Campbell made a return to the runway for Saint Laurent
Set against the backdrop of the glittering Eiffel Tower at night, legendary supermodel Naomi rocked the Saint Laurent runway to showcase what we suspect will be the party look of the season, a dazzling sequinned tuxedo suit – an iconic moment for the fashion books.
Designer Alessandro Michele made a statement at his Spring/Summer 2020 show for Gucci
Social media was flooded with snaps after Gucci’s controversial show, which saw models take to the catwalk on a conveyer belt wearing variations of a clinical straightjacket. Created as a statement for the fashion show and not to be sold, standout looks from the primary collection that followed included graphic colour-blocking, ’70s-style suits and lace-insert slip dresses.
A carefree Helen Mirren was one of the famous faces featured in the L’Oréal’s show
Award-winning actress Dame Helen Mirren brought light to the French capital as she sprinted, skipped and swirled down the catwalk for L’Oréal Paris’s Le Défilé show at PFW. Showcasing both emerging designers and internationally renowned fashion houses, the star-studded show also featured actresses Aishwarya Rai and Eva Longoria, alongside gold-medal athletes and top models.
American rapper Cardi B proved she’s no wallflower when it comes to fashion
Flaunting her fearless sense of style for the PFW street style photographers, rapper Cardi B commanded attention in some of seriously OTT looks. Who could forget this head-to-toe floral printed look by Richard Quinn complete with a matching face scarf and gloves?
Model of the moment Kaia Gerber
Walking for the likes of Givenchy, Valentino and Chloé to name just a few, Cindy Crawford’s 18-year-old daughter Kaia Gerber was undoubtedly the face of Fashion Week. Strutting her stuff in one of the last shows of the season, the American-born beauty stunned in a blush pink feathered frock by Alexander McQueen.
Hot ticket: Chanel showcased its latest collection in Paris to a packed audience
As Fashion Week drew to a close, Chanel put on a memorable show by recreating a romantic scene of Parisian rooftops at the Grand Palais. The occasion marked Virginie Viard’s first solo ready-to-wear collection for the French fashion house since the passing of Karl Lagerfeld. Our highlights from the youthful collection included colourful cropped tweed playsuits, tiered ruffle skirts and logo-splashed knit cardigans.
