LOVE THE COOPERS

This feel-good festive film is one for the entire family. With Diane Keaton, John Goodman and Olivia Wilde taking the lead roles, the story follows four generations of the Cooper family as they come together for their annual Christmas Eve celebration. Throw in a few unexpected visitors and unlikely events, and the night quickly takes a very different route, leading the family to embrace the spirit of the holiday.

MACBETH

With an all-star cast including Michael Fassbender and Marion Cotillard, this adaptation of Shakespeare's iconic tragedy, follows Macbeth, a duke of Scotland, who receives a prophecy from witches that one day he will become the King of Scotland. Backed by his wife and consumed with lethal ambition, the action-packed film takes a dark turn as Macbeth murders the king to take over the royal throne.

IN THE HEART OF THE SEA

Directed by Oscar award-winning heavyweight Ron Howard and starring heartthrobs Chris Hemsworth and Cillian Murphy, this epic movie is based on the 1820 event, which saw a whaling ship preyed upon by an enormous sperm whale, resulting in the crew stranded at sea for 90 days. The incredible special effects, acting performances and edge-of-your-seat tension are sure to leave you wanting more.

Named Evolution 2015, the highly anticipated new wing in Mall of the Emirates has officially opened its doors offering 36,000sqm of exciting retail, dining and entertainment experiences for visitors.

The project, which is worth approximately Dhs1 billion, includes a sprawling new 24-screen VOX cinema, space for 40 retail stores and 12 dining outlets.

The innovative structure features new bridges and several escalators connecting shoppers to the existing mall, as well as long glass domes casting the space with natural daylight.

There are also plenty of delicious eateries on hand to refuel after a spot of retail therapy, including celebrity chef Silvena Rowe’s Omnia Baharat, Common Grounds by the talented duo who brought us Tom & Serg, plus Texas De Brazil, Dean & Deluca and much more.

On the fashion front, expect lots of exciting new stores including All Saints, Seafolly, Lululemon and Petit Bateau, plus Juicy Couture and Jane Norman to name just a few.

Vox Cinema has also relocated to the new area with a luxurious new look. The huge entertainment complex is the largest in the Middle East housing the region’s first and only IMAX with laser screen and a VOX 4DX auditorium. SOUTHPAW

Jake Gyllenhaal also stars in this hard-hitting drama, alongside Rachel McAdams and rapper-turned-actor 50 Cent. Billy Hope (Gyllenhaal) is the protagonist, a down-in-luck boxer who turns to his trainer, played by Forest Whitaker, to help him get his life back on track after a serious of tragic accidents. The movie is equal parts emotional and motivating, with lots of fight scenes for the sports fans.

TRANSPORTER REFUELED

From the director behind the hugely popular Taken franchise, comes this action-packed crime-thriller starring Hollywood up-and-comers Ed Skrein and Loan Chabanol. The adrenaline-filled story is set in the South of France where former special-ops mercenary Frank Martin enters a dangerous game with a beautiful femme fatale and her pack of glamorous followers as they embark on a vendetta against a dangerous Russian crime leader.
