Ringing in at the top of our list is Common Grounds - a now Insta-famous casual café favoured by the city’s fitness pack. While the expert artisan coffee is reason enough to lure us out of bed early on a Saturday morning, the real crowd-draw is the wholesome plates packed with goodness.
Pick from a carefully curated menu of breakfast hits (think smashed avocado and free-range eggs) or superfood salads, wraps, tacos and soups for a bit later on in the day.

While resisting the rows of just-baked doughy goods is no easy feat, this restaurant chain also offers up plenty of light bites and nutrition-packed dishes. Located right next to the recently renovated Zara Dubai within the Fashion Dome on the ground floor of Mall of the Emirates, Le Pain Quotidien serves simple, boulangerie-inspired fare in a relaxed setting.
For breakfast nibbles, try the organic oatmeal or red-orange chia seed porridge, and for lunch, you can’t go wrong with one of the veggie-packed salads, grilled meat dishes or the Omega-3 and avocado tartine.

Dean & Deluca in Mall of the Emirates
This New York import has been attracting the masses since opening in Mall of the Emirates two years ago. Part gourmet grocer and part restaurant, Dean & Deluca offers mezzes, salads, wraps, and grilled meats (along with pasta and pizzas) with an emphasis on fresh ingredients.
Housed within a light-drenched, minimalistic setting, the eatery also recently introduced their new ‘Taste of Asia’ menu, which includes a delicious kale, quinoa and mango salad along with tandoori chicken, salom laksa, udon noodles and more.
Must-try on the menu: Goat cheese & walnut salad with fresh green Rocca, wild rocket leaves, romaine lettuce, sun-dried tomatoes and olives with pomegranate dressing.
