30 chefs, 5 weeks and over 50 volunteers Friday December 5th with all proceeds going to Dubai Centre for Special Needs Annual event in partnership with the Kempinski Hotel

For the ninth consecutive year, Mall of the Emirates and Kempinski Hotel Mall of the Emirates are collaborating to create the longest string of German stollen cake to-date – 650 metres to be exact, and it’s all in the name of charity as the 9th Annual Stollen Charity Cake takes place on Friday December 5th, all day until the last slice of cake is sold.

The Stollen, a festive variety of the traditional German fruitcake, taking a team of 30 chefs five weeks to prepare, and with the help of over 50 volunteer team members the event is set to be a huge success once again, with slices selling for AED5 and a whole loaf selling for AED100.

“This coming holidays, Mall of the Emirates is encouraging the community to embrace the festive spirit by joining us on December 5th for a spirited day of family entertainment for a good cause,” said Hussain Moosa, Associate Director for Mall of the Emirates. ‘This year’s Stollen charity event is the most ambitious we’ve hosted in partnership with the Kempinski Hotel and

with 650m of delicious festive cake ready to be sold, we are optimistic that we will raise record numbers for the Dubai Centre for Special Needs.”

Starting at 10am on Friday December 5th, the 9th Stollen Charity Cake Sale promises fun for all ages. There will also be a special visit by Santa Claus and his helpers – a group of students from the Dubai Centre for Special Needs plus festive carolers to add to the cheer.

“The Kempinski Stollen charity cake sale is a highlight on our annual calendar,” says Dr. Mahshid Salehi, Director of the Dubai Centre for Special Needs. “We are always so grateful to the team at the Kempinski and Mall of the Emirates for their hard work and determination to always make the cake bigger and better each year. The money they raise every year really does help us go further and continue to support and nurture the development of our students, therefore, lighting their path towards a brighter future.”

Last year saw the cake stretch to 600m and raise AED 87,990 for charity, and with 50m more this year, Mall of the Emirates and Kempinski Hotel aim to raise even more funds for charity.
