Majid Al Futtaim Properties’ Malls Launch First-Ever Live Streaming of DSS for Fans

Deira City Centre, Mall of the Emirates, Mirdif City Centre launch video feed from the mall providing real-time coverage of DSS events for fans around the globe

Dubai, UAE – 18June 2013 – Deira City Centre, Mall of the Emirates and Mirdif City Centre are spearheading the use of digital media to connect with shoppers by introducing the first-ever live-streaming of Dubai Summer Surprises (DSS) activities from the malls.The feed features mini-episodes hosted by an MC who gives viewers a real-time feed of exciting events happening in the mall including shopping specials, new clothing collections, international dining options and un-matched entertainment. The video stream provides the chance for viewers to experience the excitement of DSS wherever they are, innovating the way that malls interact with shoppers in Dubai and around the world.

The live stream feedsprovide a unique opportunity to share events and activities at Deira City Centre, Mall of the Emirates and Mirdif City Centre in real-time with people, bringing an inside-look at the malls from any location. The feed also allows us to share shopping, dining and entertainment offerings with an international audience – further positioning Dubai as a top tourism destination,” said Hussain Moosa, Associate Director for Majid Al Futtaim Properties.

Live video episodes, complete with a host providing insight about the activities taking place, is streaming onto Deira City Centre, Mall of the Emirates and Mirdif City Centre websites and Facebook pages – reaching nearly 400,000 Deira City Centre fans, over230,000 Mall of the Emirates fans and upwards of 340,000 Mirdif City Centre Facebook fans.The show video schedule highlights retail stores and special offerings within the mall, restaurant activity and entertainment shows.Viewers can also catch an episode they missed on YouTube. 

“Dubai Summer Surprises (DSS) is the perfect platform to introduce this new concept to visitors so that they don’t miss the international entertainment shows, and we will be further defining the ways in which we can use this technology to reach out to our shoppers and fans,” added Hussain Moosa.
